What happens when I click compare?

Our partner comparison service opens so you can enter your postcode, usage, and personal details to apply for a tariff.

How long does an energy switch take?

Most switches complete within about five working days once your new supplier accepts you. Timelines can vary if information is missing.

What is the cooling-off period?

Domestic energy contracts usually include 14 days to cancel after you sign up online or by phone. Your welcome pack should explain how to cancel.

Will my gas or electricity be cut off during a switch?

No. Your supply continues through the same pipes and wires. Only your supplier and billing change.

Do I need a smart meter to switch?

Not always. Many switches work with traditional meters. Some tariffs ask for a smart meter install after you sign up. Plan details will say.

What usage information should I use?

Annual kWh from a recent bill is best. If you do not have a bill, pick the household usage level that closest matches your home on the comparison tool.

Are the tariff examples on this site live prices?

No. Example cards are for learning only. Live prices depend on your postcode, usage, meter type and which suppliers serve your area.
